How Much Money Should I Bring?

The question you are all asking, even if you haven't emailed about it yet is:  How much money should I bring with me?

The field cost for everyone is $1,600 per person.  This does not include your airfare, insurance or souvenirs.  It does cover all meals, transportation, housing and ministry funds needed from the time you land in Peru, until you depart.  

Money to Peru will be accessed in two different ways.  

  * A portion will be sent (via check) to the IMB.  I can access this from     Peru and will use it to cover all your expenses in Lima.
  * A predetermined amount will be brought in cash in crisp, clean bills.  



Because the number of you coming for the summer is still fluctuating, this effects how much you'll send in advance and how much you'll bring in cash.  It's complicated.  So, the first week of April, I will email detailed instructions about all of these.  I'm praying for each of your as your raise funds.  Don't stress about the money.  The Lord has called you to come serve this summer and He will provide a way for it to happen.  

Immunization Information

Your immunizations are an important part of staying healthy on the trip.  Please make sure your immunizations are up to date.  If you are going to teach ESL in the jungle, you MUST have a current Yellow Fever vaccine.  This is a chart from the CDC website with immunization information.  Click on the chart to view it larger.  The links on the chart will not function from the blog but will from the CDC website.

Flight Information

As you look for flights, please make sure that your flights fit within these parameters. It's not feasible to make multiple airport runs during the day to pick up flights.  Please email me your itinerary before you purchase it for my approval.  I will respond immediately as to not delay your purchase.


ARRIVAL: June 1 between 8pm and 2am (June 2)
DEPARTURE: July 30 between 8pm and 2am (July 31)
